Matthew Emering has a diverse work experience in the education field. Matthew started as a Substitute Teacher in Mount Olive Township School District, where they gained important insights and experience in classroom management. Matthew also worked as a Special Education Teacher Assistant in the same district, where they assisted students in grades K-1. Matthew also served as a Field Experience teacher in the Special Education department at Mount Olive High School, where they gained valuable knowledge on meeting student needs. Later, Matthew joined Pope John XXIII Middle School as a Boys 5/6th Grade Lacrosse Coach and instilled values of hard work and teamwork in the players. Matthew then became a Substitute Teacher and held the position of Head Football Coach and Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Pope John XXIII High School. Throughout their roles, Matthew developed skills in coaching, teaching, lesson planning, and classroom management.

Matthew Emering attended Pope John XXIII Regional High School from 2015 to 2019, where they received their high school diploma. After that, they enrolled in Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2019 and is expected to graduate in 2024. At Fairleigh Dickinson University, Matthew is pursuing a degree in History with a focus on Quest/Secondary Education. Their field of study is specifically focused on Quest - Students with Disabilities. Additionally, Matthew has obtained certifications such as being a Google Certified Educator, which they received from Google in May 2023. Matthew also holds an Instructional Substitute (60-Credit) certification from the New Jersey Department of Education, obtained in September 2022.
