Valerie Ward

Valerie Ward is an experienced accounting professional currently serving as the District Accountant for Poplarville School District since July 2023. Previously, Valerie has held various positions within Simpson County Schools since January 2019, including Accounting Bookkeeper and Assistant Director of Finance. From February 2002 to January 2019, Valerie worked at Insurance Associates of Magee, Inc. as an Account Manager, managing a diverse commercial portfolio and engaging in market research and client relations. Valerie also co-owned 49 Bistro from August 2010 to August 2014, focusing on budgeting, vendor management, and event coordination. Additional experience includes serving as Weekend Management/Clerk and Night Auditor at Holiday Inn Express and Office Manager at Tyrone Company. Valerie began their career as a Customer Service Representative at Insurance Associates of Magee, Inc. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi University for Women and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Belhaven University.
