Jay Ashe

Jay Ashe is the current Director of Engineering at Poppy. Prior to this, Jay served as VP of Technology and Director Of Engineering at Poppy Flowers for 2 years 1 month. Jay was responsible for leading a team of engineers and contractors to build new features and integrations for CAVA's mobile and web digital properties using React, React Native, and Elixir. In this capacity, Jay provided technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, from ideation and requirement definition through implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Jay also worked with internal and external partners to drive company initiatives while facilitating career and personal development for individual contributors. Some of Jay's other areas of experience include accessibility compliance/remediation, infrastructure and architecture monitoring, observability, and planning, relational database management, monitoring, and maintenance, technical support program implementation, app store reputation management, external development agency management and collaboration, incident response, documentation, and remediation. Jay has also worked with Elixir, React, and React Native to build and maintain features for CAVA's online ordering platform. Jay participated in all stages of the feature development process, from discovery and concepting, through development and QA. Prior to their work at CAVA, Jay served as a Software Development Intern at Cvent for 3 months and a Winter Intern at BluestoneLogic for 2 months.

Jay Ashe attended the University of Virginia from 2011 to 2015, where they studied computer engineering. While at UVA, Jay was involved in club water polo, the Engineering Student Mentorship Program, and student-taught classes as a lecturer.

Austen Brower and Jay Ashe work together as the Director of Operations and the Director of Engineering. Michael Babyak is the General Manager and Rachel Spera is the Director of Marketing & Merchandising.
