Maria Cristina Mena

Maria Cristina Mena is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in banking and legal counsel. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Legal Division Manager at Popular since May 2015, Mena oversees legal matters related to banking, acquisitions, and special businesses. Previous roles include Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs at the Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury and Counsel at McConnell Valdes. Mena also held positions at R & G Financial Corporation and McConnell Valdés, and began her career as a Commercial Credit Analyst at Banco Popular North America. Mena earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a focus on Insurance and Risk Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
