Marinus Janse van Rensburg is a seasoned actuarial professional with extensive experience in retail pricing strategy, customer behavior modeling, and financial modeling. Currently serving as a Partner in Actuarial Analytics at Porcupine Union since July 2020, Marinus leads initiatives to optimize short-term insurance pricing and conducts customer behavior analysis through machine learning. In addition to this role, Marinus has been an Actuary at King Price Insurance since February 2018, focusing on customer lifetime modeling and operational analytics for enhanced sales and marketing efficiencies. Previous positions include actuarial roles at Alexander Forbes, where responsibilities included pension fund valuations and investment consulting. Marinus holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Pretoria and a Fellow designation from the Actuarial Society of South Africa, complemented by a MicroMasters program certificate in Statistics and Data Science from MITx.
