Pertti Menonen

Pertti Menonen has extensive work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on electric distribution systems. Pertti currently serves as the CEO at Pori Energia Sähköverkot Oy since July 2023. Prior to this role, Pertti was the CEO of PKS Sähkönsiirto Oy from January 2021 to June 2023. PKS Sähkönsiirto Oy is a subsidiary of Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö Oy and operates as an electric distribution system operator in the North Karelia region of Finland.

Before their role at PKS Sähkönsiirto Oy, Pertti held various positions at Empower Group from 2009 to 2020. Pertti served as the Vice President of Projects and Expert Services from February 2018 to June 2020, overseeing construction projects in high voltage substations, power lines, and wind parks in Finland, the Baltic region, and Sweden. Prior to that, they were the Project Portfolio Manager for High Voltage Substations from January 2015 to January 2018, where they managed a portfolio of projects valued at over €20 million annually.

Pertti also has experience in wind power and renewable energy. Pertti worked as the Business Development Manager for Solar PV and Energy Storage Systems at Ilmatar from August 2020 to December 2020. During this time, they were responsible for developing industrial-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems.

Earlier in their career, Pertti worked at HeadPower Oy as the Product Manager for Construction Management and Technical Design Softwares from January 2005 to June 2009. Pertti was responsible for project and product management, including software development, sales, and after-sales support.

Pertti's work experience also includes roles at Tampereen Sähkölaitos and Vattenfall, where they gained expertise in low and medium voltage grid design and power systems engineering.

Overall, Pertti Menonen has a diverse background in the energy industry, encompassing leadership roles, project management, business development, and technical expertise in electric distribution systems and renewable energy.

Pertti Menonen completed their education at Tampere University of Technology from 1998 to 2006. Pertti obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Power Systems Engineering during this time. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1997, they attended Tampereen yhteiskoulun lukio - Tampere Arts-Oriented Senior Secondary School (TYK) and successfully obtained the Finnish Matriculation Examination. In terms of additional certifications, Pertti obtained the CBM (Certified Board Member) / HHJ (Hyväksytty hallituksen jäsen) certification from Tampereen kauppakamari in March 2022. Pertti also received the Electrical qualification 1 (Finland), Sähköpätevyys 1 (Suomi) certification from Henkilö- ja yritysarviointi SETI Oy in December 2019. Furthermore, Pertti holds the IPMA C certification from IPMA: International Project Management Association, which they obtained in June 2014.
