Angela Sutherland is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in disaster risk management and climate resilience. Currently serving as Principal Climate Resilience Advisor at Porirua City Council, Angela leads the development of the city's Climate Change Adaptation Programme. Previously, Angela held the position of General Manager Disaster Risk Management at New Zealand Red Cross, contributing to community resilience initiatives both nationally and internationally. Before that, Angela worked with Australian Red Cross in various leadership roles, including State Manager Emergency Services, where oversight of disaster management programs was paramount. Angela's background also includes freelance coaching in Business English and experience as a Human Resources Consultant. Academically, Angela is pursuing a Master’s degree in Climate Change Science and Policy at Victoria University of Wellington, building on a foundation that includes dual Bachelor's degrees in Criminology and Psychology, and Master’s degrees in Human Resource Management and Management.
