Tim O'Leary has a strong background in sports medicine and physical therapy. Tim started their career in 2009 as a Sports Physiotherapist at SPORTSMED·SA, where they worked until 2015. Tim then joined the Port Adelaide Football Club as a Team Physiotherapist from 2009 to 2011, before taking on the role of Head of Physical Therapies from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, they became the Rehabilitation Manager at Milwaukee Bucks Inc. and worked there until 2017. Currently, Tim is the Head of Medical Services at Port Adelaide Football Club, a position they have held since 2017.

Tim O'Leary started their education at Rostervor College from 1992 to 1996. Tim then attended the University of South Australia from 1998 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree specializing in Physical Therapy/Therapy. In 2010, Tim pursued further education at the University of South Australia and completed a Master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy degree in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, they attended the Australian Catholic University, where they obtained a Master of High Performance Sport degree in Sports Science.
