Arjan Ettes has extensive experience in maritime operations and management, currently serving as a VTS coordinator and coach at the Port of Amsterdam since March 2010, while also holding a position as a VTS operator. Prior roles include Captain of the Lutgerdina, a sailing vessel designed for individuals with disabilities, and Manager of an organic vegetarian lunchroom called Healthy Harry. Arjan's maritime career began as a Skipper for the tjalk Pelikaan and Mate on the sailing klipper Kaat Mossel. Additional experience includes various positions in telecommunications and hospitality, as well as serving as a drafted sergeant in communications for the Ministry of Defense. Educational qualifications encompass a VTS operator degree, a Master’s in Nautical, and foundational studies in policy science and law from prestigious institutions. Currently, Arjan is furthering education at the Nova College Maritieme Academy.
