Principal Marketing/public Relations Representative at Port of San Diego

Gabriella Rodriguez has a diverse work history in the fields of public relations, marketing, journalism, and media production. Gabriella started their career as a News Assistant/Production Assistant at KABC-TV in 2008 and later worked as a Freelance Cosmetics Consultant for philosophy from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, they joined KFSN-TV ABC 30 as a Traffic Anchor/General Assignment Reporter/Traffic Producer, where they produced and delivered traffic segments, covered commuter beat stories, and occasionally filled in as a general assignment reporter. Gabriella then transitioned to Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. and served as a News Reporter and later as a General Assignment Reporter for CBS 47/KSEE 24 from 2014 to 2017. At NBCUniversal Media, LLC, they worked as a Bilingual TV News Reporter from 2017 to 2020, covering breaking news, politics, and human interest stories. Their investigative piece on California's AB 60 licenses for undocumented drivers had a significant impact on state laws. During this time, they were also part of an Emmy Award-winning team for their coverage of a local wildfire. In 2020, they joined The E.W. Scripps Company as a Broadcast Journalist, where they traveled the country to interview Latino voters leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election. That same year, they also worked as a Digital Media Manager for the County of San Diego. Currently, they are serving as a Principal Marketing/Public Relations Representative for the Port of San Diego since 2021. Starting in June 2020, they also work as a Public Relations Consultant independently.

Gabriella Rodriguez obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Whittier College, where they attended from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their degree, they have also acquired additional certifications. Most recently, in November 2022, they obtained an "Advance" certification from LEAD San Diego. Prior to that, in October 2022, they completed a certification titled "Moving DEI from Intention to Impact with Ruchika Tulshyan" from LinkedIn.
