Greg Borossay

Principal Maritime Business Development at Port of San Diego

Greg Borossay has a strong background in maritime business development and cargo operations. Greg started their career in 1992 as an Intermodal Operations Manager at Hanjin Shipping, where they were responsible for the North America rail operation. Greg then joined Hapag-Lloyd AG in 1994 as an Operations Manager, overseeing vessel, rail, intermodal, terminal, and equipment operations. In 2004, Greg joined the Port of Portland as the General Manager of Trade and Cargo Development, a position they held for 13 years. Currently, Greg is the Principal Maritime Business Development manager at the Port of San Diego, where they have been since 2017.

Greg Borossay has a strong educational background in law, business, and political science. Greg began their education journey in 1980, attending the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. Greg successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1984.

In order to further enhance their business knowledge, Borossay enrolled in the Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1987. Greg completed the program within a year and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on International Business, Trade, and Commerce.

Subsequently, Borossay decided to pursue a career in law. From 1997 to 2002, they attended Whittier Law School, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Within their law studies, Borossay specialized in Maritime Law, International Business Law, and Contract Law.

To complement their educational achievements, Borossay obtained a certification as an Attorney at Law in Washington DC. Greg acquired this certification in November 2004 from the DC Bar, allowing him to practice law in the Washington DC area.
