Eric Young

Eric Young currently serves as the Director of Communications for the Port of San Francisco, overseeing communications and external affairs for the waterfront area featuring various attractions and businesses. Previously, Eric held the position of Director of Communications at the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, managing strategic communications and media relations for a significant transportation improvement agency. With extensive experience in journalism, Eric worked as a Senior Communications Officer and Reporter for the San Francisco Business Times, reported on business-to-business commerce for The Industry Standard, and covered technology giants and startups for The Sacramento Bee. Early career experiences included reporting on city government for The San Diego Union-Tribune and law enforcement for the Los Angeles Times, where Eric contributed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Eric holds a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Stanford University and has studied at Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.
