Jay Doran

Jay Doran is an experienced professional specializing in equity, diversity, and inclusion, currently serving as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy & Communications Program Manager at the Port of Seattle since May 2020. Previous positions include Policy & Field Campaign Manager at the Statewide Poverty Action Network, where leadership was provided on campaigns for consumer protection and criminal justice reform, and Communications & Advocacy Director for the Legal Foundation of Washington, overseeing communications and advocacy for increased public funding for legal aid. Doran also held various roles at Friends of Youth, including Communications & Public Affairs Manager and Shelter & Outreach Program Manager, focusing on services for homeless youth. Early career experiences include organizing for marriage equality, performing advocacy and outreach related to homelessness, and case management in residential settings. Doran holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University.
