Alex Compton

Alex Compton currently serves as the Manager of Contracts and Purchasing at the Port of Tacoma, where responsibilities include leading purchasing, contracts, and inventory control teams. Prior experience includes a role as Supervisor of Product Planning at Metagenics, where Alex supervised a team focused on optimizing inventory management and production scheduling. Previous positions include Manufacturing Planner at Lockheed Martin, Production Buyer/Planner at Cornell Pump, and Supervisor of Supply Chain Operations at Swedish Medical Center. Alex began a career in logistics and supply chain management as a Supply Chain Officer in the United States Marine Corps, achieving a rank of Captain. Alex holds an MBA in Organizational Strategy from George Fox University and a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Advertising from Radford University, along with various certifications related to supply chain management and process improvement.
