Mark Rettmann

Environmental Project Manager, Permitting at Port of Tacoma

Mark Rettmann has a diverse work experience in the environmental field. Mark started their career in 1998 as a Laboratory Technician at Minnesota Valley Testing Laboratory and then moved on to work as a Laboratory Technician at Philip Services Corporation (PSC) in 1999. In the same year, they joined MWH Global, Inc. as a Senior Environmental Scientist, where they managed projects at various levels and prepared proposals, budgets, and scopes. In 2008, they started working at Port of Tacoma as an Environmental Project Manager, where they held multiple roles. In their role as an Environmental Project Manager, Permitting, they managed the SEPA policy and process for Port and non-Port projects and oversaw the environmental permitting process for development projects. As an Environmental Project Manager, Compliance, they implemented monitoring programs for stormwater permits and managed the MS4 permit requirements. Lastly, as an Environmental Project Manager, Remediation, they managed remediation projects of various sizes and conducted investigations and planning for contaminated sites.

Mark Rettmann began their education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where they studied Environmental Science and Bio-business from 1994 to 1996. Mark then transferred to Minnesota State University, Mankato and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Biology from 1996 to 1998. Later, in 2004, Mark attended MWH University, focusing on Project Management, although the duration of their studies in this field is unknown.
