Ben Marmont is an experienced Project Manager currently working at Port Waratah Coal Services since March 2021. Previously, Ben held the position of Project Manager at BLOC Constructions from June 2018 to July 2022, overseeing The Store Development, a major project in Newcastle that includes a bus interchange, a carpark, commercial building, and residential towers. Additionally, Ben served as a Senior Project Engineer at Downer Infrastructure Services, focusing on utility management for the Newcastle Light Rail Project, and worked as a Project Engineer at Laing O'Rourke on the Wickham Transport Interchange Project. Earlier roles included Construction Manager, Area Construction Manager, and Site Project Manager at CB&I, managing significant projects such as the Caltex Tank Conversion Project and the Newcastle Gas Storage Facility. Ben holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNSW, earned in 2006.

Port Waratah Coal Services have been receiving, stockpiling, blending and loading coal for export in the Port of Newcastle for 40 years. We own and manage the Kooragang and Carrington Coal Terminals, with a combined capacity of 145 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). We have approximately 350 employees working across our business, operating our terminals 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
