Julia Birks serves as the Principal Strategic Designer at Portable since September 2023, leading clients and teams in developing impactful strategies and experiences rooted in service design and user experience design principles. Previously, Julia was the Head of Digital Design at MYER, where research and strategy defined improvements in customer experiences and promoted cultural change within the Digital Experience team. As an Industry Teaching Fellow at Monash University, Julia designed an engaging undergraduate entrepreneurship unit while also mentoring students at RMIT Online. Julia's earlier roles at Merkle Australia and Isobar encompassed strategic design and user experience leadership across various engagements. With foundational experience in user experience consulting, web project management, and design instruction, Julia holds degrees from the Queensland University of Technology.
