Jerrod Poe serves as Dean and Director of Curriculum at Portage Learning since September 2017, previously holding roles as Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Curriculum Director. Prior experience includes a position as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from July 2013 to September 2017, where projects involved the development of high-throughput/high-content screening assays for HIV-1 Nef virulence factor and validation of potential inhibitors. Earlier roles at the same institution included Research Associate, focusing on assay implementation and statistical analysis, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, concentrating on the structure-function relationship of HIV-1 Nef. Jerrod began academic research as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, culminating in a Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics in 2009. An undergraduate B.S. in Biology was earned from Erskine College in 2003.
