Mrinay Nair

Mrinay Nair is a Principal, Partnerships at Sagard and joined the firm in 2022. With a particular focus on Portage, Mrinay is responsible for helping Sagard’s investors maximize the strategic value of their investment by identifying and facilitating commercial partnerships between limited partners and portfolio companies and delivering actionable insights on market trends and developments in collaboration with the investment and value creation teams. He is a member of the value creation team and is based in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to Sagard, Mrinay was a Director of Market Strategy at Mackenzie Investments where he was responsible for developing a market strategy for the asset and wealth management businesses, transforming client experience, and driving double-digit growth in client acquisition. Mrinay also comes with extensive experience advising C- suite executives at Financial Services Institutions and the Retail sector on technology strategy, business-aligned technology roadmaps and the launching of new digital products through partnerships during his tenure at Deloitte Consulting.

Mrinay holds a Masters in Business Entrepreneurship and Technology from University of Waterloo and a Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering from University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He is currently an advisor to the Faculty of Science and Business at the University of Waterloo and co-leading the development of a Leadership Bootcamp at University of Waterloo.
