Casey Bowman has a long history of work experience in the software engineering industry. In 1999, they began as a Lead and Software Architect at SPS Commerce. In 2004, they moved to Wells Fargo Bank as a Java and XML Consultant. Casey then moved to Target in 2009 as a Java Consultant, where they successfully designed a highly concurrent alert application for 300,000 employees and 1900 stores. In 2010, they joined Real Time Risk Systems as a Financial Software Engineer. In 2012, they moved to Boyle Software as a Developer. In 2015, they joined Sensity Systems as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2016, they moved to Verizon as a Principal DevOps Engineer. In 2018, they began working on their own as a Bitcoin Engineer, investing in learning more about Bitcoin technology and contributing to related open-source projects. In 2022, they joined PORTAL as a Bitcoin/Lightning Senior Engineer.
Casey Bowman has a comprehensive educational background. Casey holds a BSE in MAE (Engineering Physics) from Princeton University, and is currently pursuing a MS and PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University. Casey is also a PhD candidate in Engineering-Economic Systems at Stanford University. Bowman has also obtained several certifications, including Build a Modern Computer from First Principles: From Nand to Tetris (Project-Centered Course) from Coursera in May 2020, Reactive Architecture: Domain Driven Design, Reactive Architecture: Introduction to Reactive Systems, and Reactive Architecture: Reactive Microservices from IBM Cognitive Class in December 2018, and hybris Certified Core Developer V4 from hybris software.
