Bas Vermeulen

Bas Vermeulen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Bas has recently been working as an Agile Lead at Portbase since February 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as an Agile Coach at ANWB from September 2020 to February 2023, where they led teams and Product Owners in implementing Agile methodologies.

In their previous roles, they worked as a Scrum Master at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from August 2019 to August 2020, overseeing multiple Scrum teams and guiding them in efficient planning and value-driven roadmap development. Bas also worked as an Agile Coach at Baker Hughes, a GE company from February 2016 to July 2019, where they provided guidance to 12 Scrum teams, Scrum Masters, and management.

Bas has experience in senior roles as well, such as Senior Product Manager at Exact from September 2012 to December 2015, where they developed their Agile skills and coached teams working on the Saas solution Exact Online in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Previously, they were an IT Manager at Adomex from March 2008 to March 2011, responsible for setting up the hardware, software, and infrastructure for the ERP and warehouse system.

Bas'searlier experience includes roles as an ICT Advisor/Technical Project Manager at Ministerie van BZK/Flexchange from March 2011 to September 2012, where they led the implementation of cloud-based marketplaces, and as a Presales Consultant/Project Manager at Qurius from October 2004 to March 2008. Bas also gained entrepreneurial experience as the Technical Director of their own company, PSI, from January 2000 to September 2004, where they led a team of software developers and successfully implemented projects both domestically and internationally.

Bas Vermeulen obtained their Bachelor's degree in Informatics & Information Science from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their VWO/Gymnasium education at Ichthus College from 1988 to 1994.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Bas Vermeulen has obtained several certifications. In July 2013, they earned the Professional Scrum Product Owner I certification from Scrum.org. Furthermore, in December 2014, they completed the Basisopleiding bedrijfshulpverlener certification, as well as certifications in Brandbestrijding en ontruiming and Eerste hulp, all from NIBHV.
