Program Manager, Community Partnerships at Portico Healthnet

Ababa Morke, MPH, is currently serving as Program Manager at Portico Healthnet since February 2024, following a role as Evaluation Specialist at Hennepin Health. Morke has extensive experience in program development and evaluation, having worked as Director of Partnerships and Programs at Bilisummaa, where approximately 30 educational sessions were facilitated for varied audiences. Previous positions include Evaluation Coordinator at the National Training & Technical Assistance Center for Child, Youth, & Family Mental Health and intern at the Minnesota Department of Health, focusing on maternal and child health assessments. Morke's background also includes data analysis for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic, microbiology at Vascular Solutions, and community health education with the Peace Corps. Morke holds a Master's degree in Public Health from Emory University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Portico Healthnet

Portico Healthnet is a nonprofit health and human services organization, based in the Twin Cities, that connects uninsured individuals and families to the resources needed to effectively manage health. Portico employs Certified MNsure Navigators who provide outreach services in the community and personalized application and enrollment assistance for programs available through MNsure. Portico has helped Minnesotans overcome barriers to coverage and care since 1995. Portico's health access line serves as a first stop in navigating a complex health care system for under-served, uninsured people.
