Hana Layson has extensive experience in educational program management, with a focus on youth and educator initiatives. Currently serving as the Head of Youth and Educator Programs at the Portland Art Museum since September 2014, Hana Layson oversees the planning and implementation of professional development and various educational programs, collaborating with both internal and external partners. Previous roles include Manager of School and Educator Programs and School and Teacher Programs Specialist at The Newberry Library, as well as freelance writing and editing for various educational publications and organizations. Additionally, Hana Layson has held teaching positions at Portland State University and Northwestern University, along with roles in program development and facilitation aimed at enhancing literacy. Holding a Ph.D. in English from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Kenyon College, Hana Layson's academic background complements a robust career in education.
