Julia Dolan is a highly experienced art curator specializing in photography, currently serving as The Minor White Senior Curator of Photography at the Portland Art Museum since June 2010. During this tenure, Dolan has curated, co-curated, or coordinated over 45 exhibitions and successfully acquired more than 3,000 photographs, significantly expanding the museum's permanent collection to over 10,000 photographic objects. Previously, Dolan held the position of Horace W. Goldsmith Curatorial Fellow in Photography at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from September 2007 to June 2010, and served as a Research Associate at the Addison Gallery of American Art from September 2003 to July 2006. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Art History from Boston University, an MA in Art History from Penn State University, and a BFA in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
