Portland Art Museum
Sarah Wolf Newlands is an accomplished academic and creative professional with extensive experience in higher education and the arts. As an Associate Professor at Portland State University since January 2006, Newlands has also served as the Associate Executive Director for University Studies, overseeing the general education program that promotes interdisciplinary inquiry. In addition to this role, Newlands is a Board Member for the Creative Arts Community, which has facilitated immersive workshops since 1966. As an Education Affiliate at the Portland Art Museum since September 2001 and a former Meme Artist for Assembly in 2014, Newlands maintains a strong connection to the art community. Newlands holds an MFA in Painting from Portland State University and a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design, along with language studies at Middlebury Language Schools.
