Portland Community Squash
Barrett Takesian currently serves as the Executive Director and President of Portland Community Squash, a position held since September 2012. In addition, Barrett is the President of Barrett Takesian LLC, focusing on developing inclusive community centers and programs within sports and arts organizations. As a Senior Advisor for Community Programs at US Squash, Barrett has facilitated the launch of community squash programs in nearly 20 cities nationwide. Barrett also serves as an Ambassador for the Afterschool Alliance and has been the Chair of the Portland Out of School Time Network, promoting youth opportunities in Portland, ME. Previous roles include Board Member at the Squash and Education Alliance and Lawrence Squash Coordinator at SquashBusters, Inc. Barrett's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College and earlier studies at Santa Clara University and Milton Academy.

Portland Community Squash has created a facility and a community of adult and junior squash players representing diverse socioeconomic groups and backgrounds in Portland, Maine. Our mission is to sustain this diverse community and to provide academic and squash instruction to challenge and empower Portland area youth to achieve academic success, physical wellness, constructive citizenship and a path to higher education and beyond.
