Hema Sundaram

Hema Sundaram is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in information systems and analytics leadership. Currently serving as the Division Chief Information Officer at Portland General Electric since October 2017, Hema leads the implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning platforms, including Generative AI, while managing critical operations systems to enhance service delivery. Previously, Hema was the Senior Manager of the Business Analytics Competency Center at Southern California Edison, where the establishment of a Hadoop-based analytics platform improved real-time grid management. Hema also held positions as Industry Principal at Infosys and Manager of Enterprise Systems at Southern California Edison, delivering strategic consulting and overseeing multiple SAP implementation projects. Early career experience includes a role as Senior Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services. Hema holds a Master's degree in Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Sathyabama Engineering College.
