Doug Westervelt began their career in 1988 as a Staff Accountant for Deloitte Touche. In 1990, they moved to Crate & Barrel as a Sales Associate and Section Head. In 1991, they became the Controller for Premium Beverages. From 1992 to 1994, Doug worked as a Contract Accountant for Robert Half International, Accountants 4 Contract, and Robert Wright, LLC. In 1996, they took on the role of Business Manager for International Business Software. In 1997, Doug became the CEO of Portland Internetworks, where they bootstrapped the business from an unlikely way to pay the mortgage into a reliable, respected managed technology partner for businesses in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Doug was responsible for organizational and cultural leadership to grow from a 2-person startup to a mature, 30+ employee enterprise. In 2002, Doug began working as a Freelance Classical Musician, Substitute and Extra Symphony Player.
Doug Westervelt received a BS in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Oregon in 1996. Doug also received a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of the Pacific - Eberhardt School of Business in 1988. Additionally, Doug holds certifications from Cisco, ShoreTel, and the State of Oregon Board of Accountancy. These include the Cisco Express Foundation Sales Specialist (2013), Cisco Sales Expert (2013), Cisco SMB Account Manager (2012), Certified Solution Architect (2012), Cisco Environmental Sustainability Overview (2022), Small Business Technical Overview (2022), and Oregon Licensed Certified Public Accountant (1994).
