Alana Aaron

Alana Aaron is an experienced educator currently serving as an Elementary Dual Language Teacher, Summer Acceleration Academy Teacher, and Substitute Teacher at Portland Public Schools since March 2022. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Code.org from June 2014 to January 2022, where Alana held various roles including Director of Outreach and Regional Manager Team Lead, focusing on the development and implementation of educational initiatives. Alana's earlier career at the NYC Department of Education spanned from September 2004 to October 2017, culminating in the role of Senior Director of Communications and Expansion for Computer Science Education, driving equitable access to computer science programs citywide. Alana also designed and launched the first elementary school computer science program in New York City. Alana holds a Bachelor of Science in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Mercy University.
