Christopher Brida has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Christopher is currently the Director of Career + Technical Education & Advanced Coursework at Portland Public Schools since August 2023, where they oversee the expansion and enhancement of CTE, AP, and IB programs. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2023, they served as Vice Principal at Lincoln High School, where they were responsible for activities, academic support, and implementing a suicide prevention program.
Before transitioning to the field of education, Brida co-founded Crossroad Company LLC in 2012, where they developed and sold WineCream, a wine ice cream product. Additionally, from 2012 to 2019, they worked as a mathematics and business teacher at Benjamin Franklin High School in Baltimore, where they also coached the track and field teams.
During their early career, Brida held various intern positions, including serving as the lead social media intern at OpenSchool ePortfolio in 2011 and handling education policy work and website management as an intern at The OWN Foundation in the same year. In 2010, they were a CHANGE Intern at Oxfam America.
Throughout their work experience, Brida has demonstrated a commitment to education, innovative product development, and project management.
Christopher Brida completed their Bachelor's degree in Management from Bryant University in 2012. Christopher then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Administration at Indiana University Bloomington, which they obtained in 2018. Currently, Christopher is enrolled at the University of Kentucky, where they are pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration, expected to be completed in 2026. Their high school education was completed at Hampshire Regional HS from 2003 to 2008.
