Matthew Oleson

Matthew Oleson is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching languages and academic intervention. Currently serving as a Spanish Teacher and Academic Interventionist at Portland Public Schools since August 2019, Matthew previously held roles such as ESL/Humanities Assessment Specialist and ESOL teacher at Colegio De La Inmaculada - Jesuitas from August 2017 to July 2019. Prior experience at Portland Public Schools includes teaching Middle School Language Arts, Humanities, Personal Finance, and Spanish Immersion from August 2008 to July 2017, as well as serving as an Elementary ESOL Teacher. Matthew’s career began at Los Angeles Unified School District where responsibilities included teaching Middle School Language Arts and ESOL from August 2004 to July 2008. Matthew holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Spanish from Seattle University.
