Dane Sawyer

Dane Sawyer has a diverse work experience in video content production, primarily focusing on roles as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor. Dane started their career in 2010 as an intern for documentary filmmaker Kevin McKiernan, where they organized footage and logged timecodes. Dane then worked as an intern at Chicago Pacific Entertainment, where they gained experience in script coverage and office work. In 2011, they interned at KQED, a PBS affiliate, assisting on the set of the program 'This is Us' and learning about television production.

From 2011 to 2012, Sawyer worked at UCSB Intercollegiate Athletics as an editor, cinematographer, co-producer, and writer. Dane created engaging videos for various sports teams and collaborated with students to produce high-quality work. Dane also served as a photographer for the Men's Basketball and Cross Country teams.

Sawyer then joined Quarter4, a sports-based video production house, where they primarily worked as a lead editor and cinematographer. Dane also took on roles as a producer, director, and writer and had the opportunity to work with clients such as Nike, Pac-12, and Oregon State University, as well as notable athletes like Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter.

In 2014, Sawyer took on freelance roles at Vision Kraft and Sound Images, where they worked as a video editor, cinematographer, motion graphic designer, and gaffer. Dane contributed to projects for Inventist and Nike, including interview-based pieces with Phil Knight.

Since 2015, Sawyer has been working at the Portland Trail Blazers @ the Rose Quarter. Dane started as a video producer, cinematographer, and editor before being promoted to senior video producer. In their current role as the Director of Video Content Production, they oversee multiple editors and shooters, leads projects from pre-production to final delivery, and collaborates with various departments within the organization. Dane also works on set and in real-life situations with players, actors, and fans.

Throughout their career, Sawyer has also pursued freelance opportunities, specializing in creating emotional and powerful videos. Dane has worked with clients such as Nike, Damian Lillard, LSU, University of Utah, and several others. Additionally, they have a passion for photography, particularly in action sports and nature.

Dane Sawyer attended Los Gatos High School from 2004 to 2008, but did not receive a degree or study a specific field. From 2008 to 2012, Dane studied at UC Santa Barbara and earned a Bachelor's Degree in both Film and Media Studies and History.
