Koji Matsumoto has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Koji began their career as a Pottery Specialist at Willowbrook Arts Camp, where they taught pottery skills to hundreds of students and developed weekly projects. Koji then worked as a Video Editor and Photographer at White Box Gallery, where they photographed live performances and conducted video interviews with guest artists.
In 2013, Koji joined the Portland Trail Blazers as a Motion Graphics Intern, creating 3D animations for in-stadium use and developing animations for sponsors during Trail Blazer games. Koji also worked as an Audio Visual Assistant at Really Big Video Inc, where they were responsible for website development and motion graphics animation for live event production. Koji provided content for clients such as Nike and Nike Golf.
Koji's skills and experience led him to advance within the Portland Trail Blazers organization. Koji became a Sr. Motion Graphics Designer and 3D Artist before eventually being promoted to the role of Director of Design & Brand Identity. In this role, they are responsible for the visual and design style of the organization's brand, working closely with the Sr. Director of Creative Services to establish and execute the creative vision.
Koji Matsumoto studied at the University of Oregon from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Digital Arts.
