Rich Campbell

Head Athletic Trainer at Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club

Rich Campbell has an extensive work experience in sports medicine and athletic training. Rich served as the Head Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club starting in 2008. Prior to that, they were a Sports Medicine Team Member for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, participating in the Beijing Olympic Games and Pan-American Olympic Games. From 1996 to 2006, Campbell was the Head Athletic Trainer for the New York Islanders. Rich also worked as an Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Las Vegas Thunder Hockey Club from 1993 to 1996.

Rich Campbell has a strong educational background in the field of sports science and exercise. Rich obtained a Master of Sports Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the United States Sports Academy in 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine & Athletic Training at Eastern Michigan University from 1988 to 1990. In addition to their degrees, Rich also holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers' Association, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Performance Coach from USA Weightlifting.
