Miguel Anjos has extensive experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on controlling, operations management, and credit. Miguel began their career at TNT as a Controller Assistant before moving on to Espirito Santo Data SGPS as the Coordenador Área Financeira. Miguel then joined FCA CAPITAL Portugal, where they served as the Dealer Financing Director and later as the Credit & Risk Director.
In 2012, Miguel transitioned to Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) - Portugal, where they held various leadership roles. Miguel started as the Head of Credit, responsible for underwriting and collections of retail and corporate customers. Miguel also oversaw credit management activities and managed a team of 15 employees. Miguel then became the Head of Business Line Retail & Dealer Financing, where they successfully implemented retail financing strategies and achieved high penetration rates and customer satisfaction. As the Head of Operations, they managed all aspects of car financing product operations, including origination, contract management, aftersales, remarketing, and retention touch points. Miguel also had experience in outsourcing steering and managing specialized areas like contact center and insurance operations.
In 2021, Miguel joined Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) as the Financial Controller, focusing on steering and supporting EU markets in financial planning, forecasting, and evaluating business cases. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Finance at Porto Application Center by VWFS, where they are responsible for setting up the Finance department and overseeing financial operations to support the center's business goals. Their tasks include financial analysis, budgeting, controlling, procurement, recharging, accounts payable/receivable, and resource planning. Additionally, they contribute to the establishment of standards, creation of economies of scale, and IT cost optimization across markets and at the group level. Miguel is also involved in coordinating the OPEX program and ensuring liquidity/equity support for PAC activities.
Miguel Anjos has a diverse education history. In 1999-2001, they attended Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa (ISCAL) where they pursued a degree in Administração e Controlo Financeiro. Following this, from 2004 to 2005, they attended ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where they obtained a degree in Controlo de Gestão e Performance.
