Thais Fernandes

Thais Fernandes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quality analysis and research within the minerals and materials sector. Currently serving as a Master Quality Analyst at Porto Sudeste since May 2021, Thais has held previous roles at CSN as a Specialist and at CETEM as a Researcher. Thais’s expertise includes the technological characterization of minerals utilizing X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Notable contributions include the development of analytical methods, assembly of XRF laboratories, and implementation of ISO quality certifications. Thais also has a strong background in chemical engineering, having worked as a Senior Chemical Engineer at Thyssenkrup CSA, where responsibilities encompassed laboratory assembly, personnel training, and analytical method development. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in metallurgy and materials from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and a master's in polymers from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
