Alek Vernitsky has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Their career began in 2000 as a Senior Consultant at Arthur Andersen. In 2002, they moved on to become a Project Manager at Gap, Inc. Three years later, in 2005, they were promoted to Senior Product Manager at HumanConcepts. In 2009, they joined Bain & Company as a Manager. In the same year, they also became a Board Member at Hostelling International USA. In 2011, they co-founded GetGoing, Inc, where they served as CEO. In 2016, they held two positions simultaneously; Senior Vice President & Head of Product at thredUP, and Senior Vice President, Product Strategy at BCD Travel. In 2017, they became the Co-founder & CEO of Portside, Inc.
Alek Vernitsky received their MBA from Harvard Business School in 2009 and their BA in Business Administration and Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000.
