Cal Corkery

Councillor, Labour Party at Portsmouth City Council

Cal Corkery is currently a Councillor for the Labour Party at Portsmouth City Council. Prior to this, they worked as a Community Led Housing Advisor with Action Hampshire from February 2020 to October 2020. In this role, they worked with communities to develop new social housing in their local areas.

From January 2018 to January 2020, Cal worked as a Money and Benefits Advisor with VIVID. In this role, they managed a caseload of social housing tenants, providing advice around money issues and benefit entitlement.

Before that, from September 2015 to January 2018, Cal worked as a Community Support Worker with Two Saints Limited. In this role, they supported service users who were homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness. This involved supporting clients to sustain tenancies which may be at risk, find alternative accommodation, maximise their incomes, reduce debt burdens, and link in with specialist support agencies.

Cal Corkery studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of East Anglia, before going on to study Politics, Philosophy, Economics and Law at HSDC Havant & South Downs.
