Stuart Brown

Councillor, Liberal Democrat at Portsmouth City Council

Stuart Brown is a Councillor for the Liberal Democrats at Portsmouth City Council. Prior to this, they were Head of Programme Development & Events at Shaping Portsmouth from September 2019 to July 2021. There, they were responsible for enabling volunteers to contribute to the programmes of Shaping Portsmouth and guiding those programmes towards success. Stuart also delivered top-class events, including the Shaping Portsmouth Conference and Business Leaders Group meetings.

From June 2015 to September 2019, Stuart was Operations and Programme Support Manager at Shaping Portsmouth CIC. In this role, they managed the day-to-day operations of the company, including finance, administration, and planning. Stuart also provided administrative and operational support to programmes and steering groups, enabling the delivery of project work and facilitating meetings.

Before joining Shaping Portsmouth, Stuart was Field Organiser for Portsmouth Liberal Democrats from January to May 2015. Stuart also worked as a Bar Manager at The Eagle Public House from July to October 2014, and as Deputy Manager at Midcounties Co-operative from July 2009 to July 2014.

Stuart Brown received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Birmingham. Stuart also has A levels in Philosophy, Computing, English Language, German, and Bradfield College.
