Jay Hammond has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jay worked as a Training Manager and Residential Trainer at WaterFurnace International from December 2019 to April 2021. Prior to that, they held various positions as an NRA Certified Instructor starting in 2009, including roles as a Pistol Instructor, Personal Protection in the Home Instructor, and Range Safety Officer. Jay also served as an NRA/ATA/NSSA Level 2 Shotgun Coach at NRA/ATA/NSSA since January 2009. Jay was a Hunter Education Instructor at Indiana Hunter Education from February 2014. Additionally, Jay worked as an NSSA Skeet Instructor at NSSA from February 2014. Jay also served as an SCTP/NSSF Shotgun Coach at Positive Coaching Alliance since January 2008. Jay's experience includes founding and serving as the Past President of DeKalb County Youth Shooting Sports Foundation, a 501c3 organization supporting high school shotgun teams and local club teams. In their role as Coach and Past Head Coach at St. Joe Valley Conservation Club and High School Shotgun Clubs since January 2005, Jay coached youth trap, skeet, and sporting clays teams, conducted classroom and field instruction, and maintained records. Jay also worked as a Consultant and Technical and Sales Specialist at GeoExcel from August 2008 to December 2019, and they served as the Service Manager at Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram Truck from August 2017 to September 2018.

Jay Hammond attended Indiana University Kokomo. Jay pursued a degree in Business but it is unclear when they started and ended their education at this institution.
