Positive Positioning works with individuals with life changing injuries e.g. head injuries, and long term conditions e.g. cerebral palsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis

We treat people in their own homes,and work closely with their family, carers and other health professionals, through ongoing tuition and training to positively influence body shape and function, increase comfort, decrease pain and provide personal support whilst maintaining safety of all concerned. 

Positive Positioning staff take time to listen and understanding your main concerns and difficulties and work in partnership with you and your carers to set realistic achievable goals that we have all agreed. 

We assess seating and wheelchairs, sleep positioning and day time activities and positions. We believe that 24 hour postural care includes activities and active movement. To assist with this Positive Positioning offers hydrotherapy at Armley Leisure Centre and Holt Park Active in Leeds. 

Positive Positioning also offers training for carers and health and social care professionals in Manual Handling. This can be a 6 day train the trainers, a 2 day introduction to manual handling for new staff or a half day update for experienced staff. We also offer bespoke manual handling training to PAs (personal assistants) working with individuals. 

Positive Positioning offers individual risk assessment of people with complex needs assessing their specific manual handling difficulties and problems solving these. This includes training and supporting carers in the techniques suggested.
