Max Ludwig Ahnen

Max Ludwig Ahnen has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Max Ludwig started their career as a Student Intern at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics in 2010 and later pursued an Erasmus Internship at Durham University in 2010-2011. In 2011, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Physics, where they focused on the characterization of photomultipliers and silicon photomultipliers.

In 2012, Max joined ETH Zürich as a PhD Student in Astroparticle Physics. During their time there, they conducted research on discovering gamma-rays and a gamma-ray pulsar in telescope data and developed software and hardware using C++, ROOT, Java, Python, and MySQL. Max Ludwig also worked on low count statistics using objective Bayesian methods. Max Ludwig was later promoted to the role of Pioneer Fellow at ETH Zürich, where they continued their research and development work until 2018.

In 2018, Max co-founded and became a Member of the Board at Positrigo, a company that focuses on medical imaging technology. Max Ludwig served as the CO-CEO alongside their partner until 2019, and then transitioned to the role of Founder and COO. Max Ludwig played a crucial role in the growth and success of the company.

In 2020, Max returned to ETH Zürich as an Associate, further contributing to the research and academic community.

Max Ludwig Ahnen has a strong educational background in physics. Max Ludwig earned a Diplom-Physiker degree at the Technical University of Munich, where they studied from 2006 to 2012. Following this, they pursued further education at ETH Zürich and obtained a Doctor of Sciences degree in physics from 2012 to 2016.
