Duncan Maru

Duncan Maru has a diverse work experience in the field of health and medicine. Duncan is currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner for the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene since September 2021. Before that, they worked as an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai starting from July 2018.

Duncan co-founded and served as a board member for Possible Health, a healthcare organization focused on providing transparent and data-driven healthcare for Nepal's rural poor. Duncan also conducted research at the Yale AIDS Program from 2003 to 2008 and at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi from 2004 to 2006.
