Previously, Harlen owned and operated a Quiznos franchise, achieving $500,000 in sales in 2005, and worked at Nordis Direct as a Production Programmer and Technical Writer, facilitating communication between customer service and development teams. Harlen's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BS in Information Studies from Florida State University.
