Cosimo Birtolo has over 16 years of experience in artificial intelligence and data science, currently serving as the Head of Artificial Intelligence Hub at Poste Italiane since June 2007. In this role, Cosimo leads the development of AI solutions across logistics, finance, insurance, payment systems, and telecommunications, with recent projects focused on logistic optimization, digital experience enhancement through generative AI, and improving access to internal documentation. Previous positions include Lead Data Scientist, Program Manager IT, Project Manager, and Data Scientist at Poste Italiane, where Cosimo contributed to various initiatives in AI, machine learning, and business intelligence. Additionally, experience includes serving as a PRIME Business Development Consultant for the International Post Corporation and as Chair of the Standards Board for the Universal Postal Union, focusing on postal technical standards. Cosimo holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from Università degli Studi del Sannio-Benevento and a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Bari.
