James also coordinated requirements and timelines across seven+ internal data stakeholder organizations, including Data Science, Product Analytics, Executive Planning and Reporting, Firmware, Product Engineering, City Reporting, Internal Audit, and Fintech. In addition, they led a team of extremely talented Data and Backend Engineers developing realtime and batch analytics pipelines and tools to ensure data quality and timeliness (SLA compliance). James's focus was on minimizing being reactive to being proactive (monitoring and alerting, known communication channels, runbooks). James was also a Postgres pinch hitter. Before Uber, they were Principal Software Engineer at Silicon Valley Bank from July 2016 to October 2017. Professional Firefighter and Hat wearer.
