Dr. Kimberly K. Sloan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dr. Kimberly K. currently works as the Director of Research Strategy and Development at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies since May 2023. Before joining the Potomac Institute, Dr. Sloan held a position as a Research Fellow at the same organization starting from October 2021. Prior to their work in academia, they had a successful career in the United States Air Force, where they served as a Military Officer from October 2001 to October 2021. Throughout their military career, Dr. Sloan held various senior-level intelligence analyst roles, contributing to strategic planning and operational insights. Dr. Kimberly K. led cross-divisional teams, directed intelligence operations, and coordinated classified launches. Their work resulted in the redirection of a significant budget and they were recognized for their superior performance in wargame framing. In addition to their intelligence roles, they also served as the Chief of Targets and Imagery Support Team and Chief of Joint Intelligence, where they led teams responsible for directing targeting and imagery support and delivering accurate and actionable intelligence to inter-agencies and global alliances. Dr. Sloan's extensive experience in strategic planning, intelligence analysis, and team leadership demonstrates their expertise in research strategy and development.

Dr. Kimberly K. Sloan completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Psychology from Capella University in 2020. Prior to this, they earned a Master's degree in Psychology at the same institution. For their undergraduate education, Dr. Sloan obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS in International/Comparative Political Science from Western Michigan University. In addition to their academic accomplishments, they also hold certifications in Innovation Graduate & Innovation Certificate from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, which they obtained in February 2021, and as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator from the American Kennel Club, which they obtained in August 2012.
