Stacey Cornmesser has a diverse work experience in the fields of education and chemical engineering. Stacey began their career in 1996 as a Chemical Process Engineer at Haldor Topsøe, where they worked until 2002. In 2016, they transitioned to the education sector and joined Poudre School District as a STEM Teacher. Stacey later became a Secondary Science Teacher in 2019 and remained in that role until 2022. Currently, they are working as a Chemistry/Technology Teacher at Weld RE-4 School District.

Stacey Cornmesser obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. After pursuing a career in engineering, they decided to shift their focus to education. From 2017 to 2019, Stacey attended Western Governors University and completed a Master of Arts in Teaching-Secondary Science, specializing in Secondary Education and Teaching. Alongside their formal education, they obtained additional certifications including "Expanding the Gizmos Experience" from ExploreLearning in December 2020 and "Secondary Science Teacher - Physics" from the Colorado Department of Education in April 2019.
