John Hayes

John Hayes is a seasoned retail professional with extensive experience in managing operations and sales across various companies. After retiring in May 2022, Hayes held significant roles at Poundland since September 2007, including Head of Retail Operations North, overseeing 250 stores through 2 Regional Managers and 17 Business Managers, as well as serving as Director of Sales and Operations North, responsible for 400 stores with 3 Regional Sales Managers and 22 Area Sales Managers. Prior to Poundland, Hayes worked at Somerfield from 2004 to September 2007 and at Kwik Save from September 1980 to 2004, contributing valuable leadership as a Regional Manager/Divisional Executive in both positions. Hayes received education from Verdin Comprehensive School.
