Calvin Lawrence is an experienced coach and educator with a strong background in water polo and aquatics. Currently serving as a coach for Del Mar Water Polo Club since March 2023, Calvin holds a parallel role as a water polo coach at Poway Unified School District, where successful coaching has led to multiple San Diego CIF championships for women's teams. Additional experience includes overseeing safety and operations as a lifeguard at Del Norte Aquatics Center and serving as head coach for Del Norte Swim and Dive, leading the team to a league title and a second-place finish at CIF San Diego Section. Calvin also has experience in the brewing industry as a marketing intern at Eppig Brewing and a retail/tasting room associate at Ballast Point Brewing Company. Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management at San Diego Miramar College, Calvin combines coaching expertise with strong organizational and operational skills.

PUSD operates 25 elementary schools (K-5), one elementary & middle school combination (TK-8th), six middle schools (6-8), one continuation high school, five comprehensive high schools (9-12), and one adult school. 26 schools are located in the city of San Diego; 12 schools in the city of Poway. The District serves over 36,000 students, and is the third largest school district in the county.
